In a fast paced behemoth of a city like Dallas, anxiety is a common problem. Acupuncture is a great way of “retraining” the nervous system response to stress that leads to the experience of anxiety. Anxiety usually comes on as a result of trauma or prolonged chronic stress. To me, it seems that the body adapts to stress in a way that produces anxiety. Meaning, the nervous system learns this response. Acupuncture is a way by which we can teach it something else.
